Liquid Nitrogen Beats Air Cooling (Again)

joe094287523459087 writes "some guys used liquid nitrogen cooling via a cardboard tube to get a 20,000 3D Mark score. you can see the frost forming on everything - wouldn't the moisture from the condensation kill the board?" The Muropaketti guys had already done this with their microprocessor. Apparently the next step was to speed up their graphics card to match.

Condensation would kill the board if it melts. If they ran it with out the Nitrogen and didn't clean it it would short out. Since it was so cold it couldn't possibly melt it.

Trust me, if the guy is pouring liquid nitrogen from a foam cup with no protection whatsoever, HE WILL BE A DARWIN AWARD CANDIDATE NOW OR IN THE FUTURE.

So the headline of this article is implying that Liquid Nitrogen (-196 C) does a better job cooling than ambient air (room temp.)
