Postmodern Computer Science
gnat writes "Two New Zealand computer scientists have a paper accepted for OOPSLA called Notes on Postmodern Programming, which identifies shortcomings in traditional views of computer science. With a section on the difference between "The Matrix" and the net, a bulleted list of new approaches called "We're All Devo", and a section called "Messy is Good" consisting of nothing but a scan of a hand-drawn diagram, this is not your father's computer science paper. It's thought-provoking stuff, though. And you know they did their homework--they cite Larry Wall's Postmodern Perl talk."

fp all the way baby. my life is complete. post modernism rocks
He will be slain soon.
Slashdotted before the first post. Is that a record?
I want to learn about linux but I dont know which distro to install?
TIA kthxbye
The paper is a freakin 1.7 mb. A /. ing of the servers is unavoidable.
Wow, 10 minutes and it's already slashdotted. I'm barely getting 3 KB/sec on the PDF file. I winder what kind of a link New Zealand has? I bet we can bring it down :)
Can someone mod that parent nonsense down? Can 13 year olds f**k off from slashdot?
He's not a 13 year old. He's a bitter 65 year old who's angry he didn't get his because he was too busy throwing darts at his picture of Bill Gates.
of course it's a troll. SexyKellyOsbourne is a pro troll. Read his other posts, and mod him to hell every time you see the name.
boy, you must be new at this? are you a first year compsci student?
so much propaganda, so little thought...
and an ignoramus.
Let's see a link to some of your fabulous programming, MSBob. You know, the stuff that's better than all those stupid books you've read.
The picture of kur05hin.org next to pseudo-intellectual wanking in the dictionary has just been replaced by this paper.
Check out this!

Consider reincarnation.
Jesus. That was the least enjoyable thing I've read in my entire life.
I found logical programming.
There is a package for LISP called Screamer that provides a logical programming system with backtracking-based non-determinism and constraint-satisfaction primitives.
Still working on finding relational programming code for LISP...
