DOJ Blocks Satellite TV Merger

EyesWideOpen writes "The Justice Department filed a lawsuit to block a merger between EchoStar Communications and Hughes Electronics that would have created the nation's largest pay-television service, stating that 'This merger would give EchoStar control of the skies for the provision of video programming by satellite, leaving customers to suffer from the resulting reduction of competition'. The FCC had already voted unanimously to oppose the merger because it would create a monopoly that would have 'adverse' effects for consumers."

    I went to this costumed Halloween party in San Francisco, and met a nice lady! She didn't have a costume, but somehow they let her in, probably because she was so gorgeous! No other guy seemed interested in her, how rude. We exchanged phone numbers. I can't wait to see her again!

    Moderators need a new category: "Poor Attempt at Humor". At least then, many ocmments would not be rated as Flamebait, Troll, etc.

    It might help if a moderator occasionally checked the history of users to see what they typically post, but we can't exactly force them to do that.... Or can we?
