Case Mod Collection

Let's clear out a few of the case mod submissions which tend to pile up in dusty corners of our submission bin: MarkCC writes "An incredibly bizarre sort-of case mod: someone recreated the computer terminals from Terry Gilliam's Brazil, using an old Mac and a 1923 underwood typewriter." We mentioned some Mac case mods the other day. And remember, if it looks fast, it might as well be fast.

    So the site got slashdotted in 4 minutes flat. So we can't read the article or see the pictures. So what? That shouldn't stop us from making wildly speculative claims about these case mods, or relaunching the Mac-v-PC holy wars.

    That's nothing. Last weekend I went to the auto scrap yard and heisted some badges. Now my Linux box has a "Turbo Deisel" badge from a 70's Volvo.

    What do you do with your computer case? You stick it underneath your table. How often do you ever look at it? Like never.

    So why mod it? What's the point? Your friends won't see it, chicks won't see it. It's like trying to design the inside of your closet. How pointless.

    Not all pc mods are just "a few holes, some vinyl dye, some lights and maybe some dremel work". True, I used vinyl, and a tinsnip/file combination instead of a dremel, but I think my mod stands a little higner above the crowd than the average neon-filled, window-ridden cases that are nearly standard today.
