PPC Amigas Go On Sale

nastyphil writes "After a wait of almost 10 years and passing through a series of owners' hands, new Amiga hardware is on sale. G4 processors at up to 800 Mhz. Development of AmigaOS 4.0 has been continuing at a steady pace by Hyperion and will be ready for release early 2003."

    Gee...talk about brand name being a problem in this case. I bet half the folks think of a CGA display 40x25 text mode when they hear the name "Amiga".

    Unfortunately the amiga folks have to shake that image - I guess a consistently good product over time is the key here , as is the case anywhere

    Sure the GUI is ugly, but it is customisable. The default Windows XP GUI is the ugliest piece of crap in the world but it can be customised. Obviously the person who submitted the GUI shots just has no taste.

    Yeah, I love the announcement. Order an early bird CPU now.. maybe we'll ship it by Christmas.. or whenever we get the OS finished.

    Another classic Amiga vaporware moment.
