Fake Your Own .Mac Server

c13v3rm0nk3y writes "A clever fellow named Otto Moerbeek has publish a short article on getting an OpenBSD box to emulate a .Mac server. Using Apache/DAV/SSL and a roll a duct-tape, he describes how you can get most .Mac functionality without paying Apple for it." This is useful because then you can use apple's backup tools to backup to a local server, and not have to backup over your piddly internet connection.

    Hanoi, 8th November, Newcastle Telewest Arena..... what the hell was going on backstage? The band were late, the two guitarists looked as if they didn't want to be there, Mike was off his face, and had several moody stomps off stage, Andy McCoy looked bemused and just shruuged to the crowd.... could have been brilliant, pity it wasn't. I'll stick to watching professionals in the future.

    He opened up a can of worms.
    Coincidentally, Mouse's self portrait, available on his Web site, resembles Mickey Mouse's seedy sibling, down to the white-gloved hands and big black shoes.
    Disney was not paying attention to him, now he just drew attention to himself. I have a feeling Disney will come down on him and his "self portrait" as a countersuit.

    You know, there are artists ...and then there are obsessive compulsives and people with chemical imbalences. Not everyone can be an artist, no matter what your preschool teachers told you when you were little.
