Real PDA Wristwatch

Larry Groebe writes "Just before COMDEX, Fossil announced a new PDA in a wristwatch. Based on the Palm OS, this is nothing less than a complete Palm Pilot on your wrist. See here for features and a picture. This is completely UNLIKE Fossil's *first* attempt at a wrist PDA, which was a hopeless view-only gadget. This new model allows regular Graffiti input and appears to run all Palm programs! At $149, I may be the first in line when it comes out next spring."

This is a "look what I got" executive toy, like all other palmtops.

I've never seen one put to task on anything I'd call remotely 'useful'.

Most of us can remember 'meeting at 4' without a little beeping mini-computer in our pocket.

Portable games seem to be the killer app for these things, and I'll stick to my Gameboy/GBA/Neogeo Pocket/TGXpress/Sega Nomad/Sega GameGear and Atari Lynx - all of which combined cost me less than an entry level palm.

The GBA was free, but besides the point.

When I said an entry level Palm/Pocket, I wasn't talking about some cheesy calendar, but something that could replace my handheld gaming goodness.. Like a

Zaurus ($350 to $500ish)
or a
Maestro Handheld Pocket PC (329.99$) at CompUSA.

Though of course, these days the TGXpress will run you 200-300 bucks... I virtually stole that thing from a pawn shop who had it priced as a gameboy. The Nomad is even more rare, though oddly less expensive. You should have called bullshit on that. GBA's are hella-cheap in comparison.
