New Alienware Media Center
Cyno01 writes "Alienware recently introduced a new product that seems to fill the gap between PVRs and PCs. The Navigator Media Center. It runs a new version of XP (Media Center Edition) and displays pictures, movies and plays DVDs. If I had the cash for it i would definitly ditch my 160Gb HD and Radeon AIW card."
hi
If I had the cash for it i would definitly ditch my 160Gb HD and Radeon AIW card.
:)
If it gave me more chicks, I would definitly ditch my 12 inch dick and my Raybans...
Anyone else smelled a look-what-I-got-peeing-contest?
who gives a fuck about the overprice alienware shit, (btw, why slashdot, why?)
where can i get media center os, so i can play?
These centers have a few restrictions:
1) Any audio CDs you burn will be localized to that PC only.
2) Any video content recorded will be localized to that PC only.
3) DVDs used to be like the previous two, but they changed it. Now any DVDs or VCDs you burn will only work with WindowsXP based PCs with Windows Media Player 9, they will NOT work on consumer DVD players unless they support Windows Media Player format.
4) It's no longer your PC, Microsoft owns it.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to just build one of those?
Yes, and it's also cheaper to build your own house, your own car, your own deck, your own kitchen, and your own septic system. That doesn't mean it's not worth a few extra bucks to *most* people to let someone else do the learning and dirty work.
