This kind of charity is exactly the kind of thing that gets places like the WTC bombed. While the US enjoys the bleeding edge of technology, they are only happy to dump their obsolete technology on lesser developed people like the Indians. It's so easy to salve the American conscience with this kind of paltry giving.
How much better off are the Indians now that they have these "pieces of drab plastic that are a little unreliable"? Not at all, frankly. It doesn't tend their herds, sow or harvest their crops, or beg on the streets of Calcutta. It is useless because there is no use for it.
When will Americans learn that technology imposed from above without a fundamental understanding of the local culture can only be rejected by those that it is meant to help? When will they learn that obsolete technology that would be dumped in landfills here will be dumped in landfills elsewhere as well?
It is time to stop treating the rest of the world as children and take a good look at America itself.
fuck em. I'm tired of the mass exodus to the United States by the Indian people to take US jobs. Many of them smell bad because hygeine is not considered important over in their country, most of them are rude, inconsiderate assholes, and they would throw you under a bus given a chance. Do not trust them, they are not your friends, remember that much. I am posting this AC because I am a pathetic slashdork afraid of losing by beloved karma, but i know a majority of the people here agree with me and feel the same way.
