University of Twente Back Online

UncleH writes "University of Twente is back online again, after the University NOC burned to ashes on wednesday. This also means that the much discussed University Campus network is also fully available again. The university already had internet access through a masquerading box in the network of their neighbours. Big hurrah for the network engineers of the University, large applause for the network engineers of SURFnet for restoring the 10Gbps Point of Presence within 36 hours after the fire."

    Are you fucking nuts? You're equating the best preserved record of human fucking history in the Western World to a FUCKING NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER? WHAT THE FUCK, CHUCK?

    You're goddamn fucking right it isn't the fucking Louvre or the Tower of London. Not even close. In fact, the shit I just took 30 minutes ago is closer to the Louvre than some fucking NOC.

    Physical objects can have emotional significance? Jesus Christ in a fucking Jetta! You might be on to something. I think I heard one or two people mention something about some Buddhist statues destroyed last year in Afghanistan. But until you mention it, I never would have guessed at the connection.

    Don't claim, with your nose hung high, that Oh We're Nerds, and You Just Don't Understand Our World. Fuck that bullshit. It's not as significant of an event as was made out to be.
