Building the Enterprise D Out of LEGOs.

CleverNickName writes "A self-proclaimed "dork" has built one of the best models of Enterprise D I have ever seen (and I think I speak with some authority)...entirely out of LEGOs. I can see my house from here!"

So what's the difference between three?

I've figured out that there's one category who likes computers and tends to despise math, there's a category that likes computers and loves math, and finally, there's a category that loves math and uses a slide rule, because, by god, they don't need no stinkin' computer.

    So which is which?

The faq's are useless. I submit a story about how the internet is on the verge of creating a whole new layer and a grid strictly for online gaming & it gets rejected. It was very interesting and in-depth. HTML and URL's were perfect, etc. Moments later, they post a friggin Lego Star Trek ship smaller than a bread box... wtf (the Lego Star Trek ship is pretty cool too, lots of time spent on that I'm sure)
    Btw, moderate THIS pissboys

  19. Unfair moderation? by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Offtopic

A post from an AC is below the default threshold. In that way most people aren't going to see it, and thus partially censored. To downmoderate such a post further, is enough to extinguish it from view of most everybody. Such a purging might be expected of some of the more vile ways people can express themselves but it just seems a bit much when a post is given such rough treatment for what amounts to differences of opinion or other petty or personal reasons. But it happens a lot. Perhaps the moderation system is like a big red button for the especially neurotic amongst us.

The appeal of being a judge and the appeal of being judged by others is probably a big draw to certain personalities. It gives a sense of control for the former, a sense of passiveness for the latter. A type of sport that really zeros in on the reptillian part of the brain.

The unfortunate outcome of such a token system is one person can spend an hour crafting a post, and another can spend 10 seconds extinguishing that work in pursuit of a sort of satisfaction not far removed from a dog licking his own nuts.

Is it no wonder people don't seem to invest much effort in writing their posts when the finished product is regarded as a trivial thing to be discarded on the whim of a single person?
