AMD's 64-bit Plot

ceebABC writes "In a long interview with eWEEK, AMD's CEO Hector de Ruiz talks about struggling to compete with Intel, but more importantly about their upcoming 64-bit processors. He says that AMD's 64-bit chips will be comparatively priced to the 32-bit ones, and backwards compatible. He also thinks there will be a market for desktop 64-bit systems. 64bit. That's only 8 bytes. Even the cheapest microcontrollers have more than 8 bytes of RAM. But of course the AMD zealots are going to defend this crappy processor and that AMD is listing bits instead of bytes to make the numbers look bigger.
