Inside One Of the Last Vinyl Record Manufacturers
jonerik writes "The Nashville Tennessean has this look at Nashville's United Record Pressing, one of the last vinyl record manufacturers left in the U.S. Although LPs and 12" and 7" singles make up a tiny portion of the American music market at this point, the article reports that United's business is booming, thanks to consolidation within Nashville's record pressing business community, steady orders for the jukebox market, techno, dance, reggae, and rap orders, and this year's 25th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. 'Elvis has been good to us. I can't complain,' says Cris Ashworth, the company's owner."

Wow. I feel as though this is my thread. This is something I have been debating for months.
In the beginning of the summer, my 3000 GT got run off the highway by a drunk a-hole. My car got smashed to hell, he fled the scene. Amazingly enough, a guy that saw it chased him down and brough me back his plate #. I filed with his insurance (and got a really retarded settlement, amost a 1/3 of what the car was worth). I spent two months shopping around for a new (used) car and found an Eclipse I liked. I ran the title, the service records, had two mechanics inspect it after they swore up and down they had "fully repaired" it, and they sold it to me NO WARRANTY (not even on thier "automotive work".
I have had this car for over 5 months now, and I've put less than 400 miles on it. I've had to replace the TPS sensor, ECU, the injectors, and finally, I'm replacing the entire motor, including the clutch. They smacked on the timing belt cover enough to cover up the sounds it made until a few days after I bought it. That was the sound of the motor slowly ripping itself apart from th inside out.
Now that I have my title, I'm thirsty for some revenge. I have suffered (believe me) long enough, and a crappy rebuilt motor is over 4 grand. If you are ever in Denver, I can tell you where NEVER to buy a vehicle. I take each and every one of your suggestions to heart. Sorry I wrote so much, thank you all.
