Typewriter Keyboard Conversion

graymalkn writes "My wife has repetitive stress problems and prefers typing on old-fashioned mechanical typewriters. For Christmas, I converted a mechanical typewriter to work as a computer keyboard. My favorite feature: slap the carriage return for Enter."

Well I tried to install LUNIX and I have to say I am not happy, I did not recognize my 802.11b card, apparently its too new and LUNIX only supports devices that are at least 5 years old.

Anyway I read a webpage that said I had to an INSMOD so I did an INSMOD and my laptop starting smoking then it blew up. So now I have to say LUNIX SUCKS and is a piece of SHIT and I am wondering WHO CAN I SUE?

I continue to be amazed at how prescient that show was.

Too bad that now he can't survive an entire miniseries now.

The past few weeks, I have been looking into how Slashdot has changed over the past few years and I have come to a very disturbing conclusion.

Remember how CmdrTaco implemented the friend and foe system? Well, as you probably know, he has created an account
called No More Trolls and as indicated by this journal entry, CmdrTaco is out to censor Slashdot through proxy-like means.

Of course, if we want to go way back to the winter, I can refer to this comment where the Slashdot admins decided to "bitchslap" this post to the very ends of the Earth. Or I could refer to this petition asking Slashdot to stop what it is doing with moderator points and the two posts a day limit with -10 karma accounts. Of course, Jamie says otherwise.

Oh wait, censoring is bad according to Slashdot! Just look at all the articles that they post on major corporations trying to stop the flow of free speech. Oh wait, trolls are bad and aren't contributing to anything, lets make sure that they cannot be seen but still allow posting! Lets control how much they post in a day!

CmdrTaco, you state that you have an open and free enviroment here. Cut the crap and admit that you do not like the way the system is. If you at least admit it there is some decency in all of this but otherwise, I think you're being a twat over this and deserve nothing but shit from everybody. As stated in the first journal entry I posted, what will you do if this gets sold to a major corporation such as AOL/TW? Do you seriously think they'll allow free speech to continue on this website?

"News for nerds. Stuff that matters" is a farce as it should be "Linux rules. Microsoft drools."

Feel free to reply, moderate, whatever.

i know that the parent was informative, but it was a decent part troll as well. if i wanted to find soldering techniques, i would have done a search on google (or asked slashdot, they except everything). its ok that you know how to better solder than the man who made this, but its his project, not yours, so why do you care so much that his soldering job wasnt up to par?
