      What? HE'S NO FUCKIN TROLL U FUCKIN MODERATORS... This is wayyyy olddddddd news..... Slashdot is a huge joke now. Probably next christmas we might get an article about Nvidia naming the NV30, the "Geforce FX".

      Yeah, I agree. What the hell is this!? The radeon has been out for a long time. Everyone knows it beats the geforce 4. What the fuck are the editors on this time?

    Apparently, although I'm not sure why. That was my first reaction also. I was really hoping to settle down to a good Slashdot story this morning, like some accomplish with a cup of joe, but I guess somebody who waits for technology reviews to show up in their local small-town gazette doesn't share my vision.

    The NV30 will beat the 9700 Pro in every benchmark, just wait.
    I have been reading articles and previews about the NV30 and it will definitelly beat the 9700.
    One field that ATI has never beat Nvidia is the driver field. Nvidia has better stability/installation/upgrade features than ATI has.
    Also, Nvidia has Official Drivers for Linux since years ago, and that is a feature that we all wants.

    But I think that competion is good for all of us, the consumers.

    maybe..but if you are a gamer don't bother. The hardware is cool, but the support sucks. I've got a 9700pro and ATI has yet to get the driver packages for full support stable. You need to apply 4 different levels in a certain order otherwise functionality is impaired. I put the ti-4600 back in my primary machine and the radeon in the spare. I will never again purchase another ATI product. Maybe ATI should hire some professional to oversee their driver support program, because the catalyst drivers fSCK.
