iSync 1.0 and iCal 1.0.1 Released

ahknight writes "Apple released the final version of iSync and iCal today. iSync was significantly changed and works a lot better with Palms and gets rid of all those nasty errors with the .Mac servers. Works great!" I never had many problems with iSync, except for initially setting it up. iCal I've had major performance and other problems with, so hopefully this fixes many of them.

Well, it gave some errors with stacktrace-like texts in the beginnen, but after the second sync, all things went well. I tested with a pod, palm and a razor-mirror.

    What's New in iCal 1.0.1
iCal 1.0.1 provides a number of performance and stability enhancements, and improved support for importing vCal and Entourage information.

    Before you download
    Check the system requirements:
Mac OS X v.10.2.2 "Jaguar" required.
Publishing calendars on the Internet requires a .Mac membership or a WebDAV server.

Note for iSync Public Beta users:
The iSync Public Beta is not compatible with iCal 1.0.1. iSync Public Beta users must upgrade to iSync 1.0 after installing iCal 1.0.1.

But what they don't say is that you need to Sync before you install iSync 1.0! Which means you also need to do it before you install iCal 1.0.1.

I wonder if I can downgrade iCal to 1.0 so I can sync, then upgrade both. AAAHHH!!! I really wish they had added this caveat to the iCal README!

  3. weird date... by selderrr · · Score: 3, Informative

with MacWorld Frisco coming up next week, I find this an odd date to release the soft. Usually, Steve likes to have the premiere of new releases. Granted, for ical it's a small upgrade, but for iSync, it is the first real release after the beta.
