Phantom Game Console
jasoncart writes "In a bold move newly formed US technology company Infinium Labs Corporation have announced the release of a new gaming console. They promise that it will be faster than any other console on the market, and have a huge games catalog (32k+ games apparently) available over broadband. Can they take on the big boys? Is broadband pentration high enough? Only time will tell - prototypes are promised in March." There's also an interview with their PR spokesdrone. *cough*Indrema.*cough*
More than 1.1 billion pigs are killed worldwide each year. For no reason.
Pork is an unhealthy food source. Most people who eat pork also have access to other, non-meat foods.
Pigs are some of the most intelligent beings on our planet. Why do we kill them by the billions? Just to enjoy the transient pleasure of tasting their flesh?

excellent troll, my friend. Transmeta chip. I have tears in my eyes. Keep up the good work.
I don't need no instructions to know how to rock!!!!
The parent post mentions that this could be a MAME-in-a-box console.
I was humorously pointing out what a mindboggling ginormous task it would be to license EVERY SINGLE ONE of those 32,000 (?!!!) ROM sets.
Legitmately selling a "MAME" machine is nowhere near like downloading and running it on your PC. (And the dirty little secret of the MAME community is that for every person that actually owns the game they're playing on their computer, there's at least 10,000 people playing downloaded copies that they don't own.)
bitter old unemployed programmers

Hah... isn't that another way of saying 'Open Source Programmer' ?
That joke is so fucking tired it makes my eyes bleed just seeing it.
You can't expect to get modded up posting it.
Eh?
