U.S. Air Force Developing Microwave Weapon
Makarand writes "A weapon that uses an intense microwave pulse to fry electronics in computers
and communication systems is being developed by the US Air Force
according to this BBC News article. This weapon is totally harmless to people and could be used in
situations where hitting targets could result in civilian casualties.
This weapon could be carried by an unmanned drone or a cruise missile." EMP weapons have, in general, been under discussion and research for a very long time.
Singer Bobby Brown has been taken to hospital after complaining of an undisclosed ailment.
Brown, who was jailed last week on a drink-driving charge, was admitted to Grady Memorial in Atlanta, Georgia, authorities said.
Mikki Jones, of the DeKalb County sheriff's department, said Brown was in "good" condition and declined to comment further.
Brown, 33, husband of singer Whitney Houston, was sentenced to eight days in jail on Friday but was due for early release on Wednesday.

The singer has a history of run-ins with the law
He had admitted a drink-driving charge from 1996 and faced further charges of failing to show proof of insurance, speeding and failing to maintain a lane while driving.
He was ordered to perform 240 hours of community service and pay about $2,600 (£1,607) in fines.
Last week a judge ordered his arrest for appearing at a televised awards ceremony in breach of his bail conditions.
He was not supposed to leave the state of Georgia, but appeared on the American Music Awards programme in in Los Angeles.

Houston and Brown have been married for 10 years
Brown, whose hit songs include My Prerogative and Every Little Step, has a history of run-ins with the law dating back to his youth in Boston.
He was held in a Florida jail for 26 days in 2000 for violating probation in connection with an incident at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
During the same year, he pleaded "no contest" to charges of kicking a hotel security guard in West Hollywood, California.
In November he was arrested in Atlanta and charged with possessing less than an ounce (28 grams) of marijuana, speeding and having no driver's licence or proof of insurance.
nah - Americans like to murder on the cheap. This weapon should be highly effective against Canadian, British or other allied personnel.
That was classic intercourse!
Whats the difference between your mom and a microwave? Nothing, you can slide your meat into both of them!
Sorry... =P
Because they love America. The world loves America.
The only people who don't love America are against us, against freedom, against democracy.
It has nothing to do with our support for Israeli military brutality, or our propping up of repressive regimes in places like Saudi Arabia for tactical and economical reasons.
If an evil muslim terrorist says these are his reasons, he is lying! He is ashamed to say he really hates freedom.
Point out the dancers in Kabul. The world needs to see the dancers in Kabul, because they are right. When the entire UN votes against us, with only Israel supporting us, tell them they don't understand what is happening in the world. The people dancing in the streets of Kabul know.
Or... could it be that, denied proper education and ravaged by American-funded civil war for decades, they're desperate and fucking clueless and actually see America as a liberator?
It's nice to see people dancing and having a good time. Perhaps you should ask the Afghani refugees starving in the border regions, or who have fled to Pakistan, or who have had their families bombed and thus don't feel the need to dance.
