Evolution Of The Online Tax Debate
rhwalker22 writes "Last November, the Streamlined Sales Tax Project drafted a plan to make it easier for states to cooperate in collecting sales taxes on products sold over the Internet. That plan is now headed to governors and state legislatures for debate.
While that debate begins, the sales tax group is moving into new territory, debating how to apply sales taxes to digital services, like music and software downloads, and IP telephony. Most states participating in the sales tax project have sent representatives to Tampa, Fla., this week to take up this subject, according to a report by washingtonpost.com."

...a pirated copy of a movie. The movie was Star Wars Episode I. The experience was so displeasing that I went to see Episode I in a movie theater and I do not plan to watch a pirated movie again. Mainly because the quality of the 80% of the pirated material sucks and also because I have better things to waste money/bandwith on. I will also continue to pay for movies as well as music and because I think it is worth while to support the people who create these works of art. Anybody who downloads pirate copies of movies taken on a camcorder in a movie theater really deserves the title "El Cheapo" because that shitty stuff will never compare to the big screen theater. These people are overreacting.

Recent falls in American and European stock markets are spreading economic doom and gloom around the world. This present drop in the value of stocks and shares in the longer term will inevitably lead to a Japanese style economic stagnation and deflation (falling prices) in USA and in the countries of the European Union. Like in Japan no amount of economic stimulus packages including near zero interest rates will not lead to any improvement and will finally lead to the collapse of the economies of USA and the European Union.
Economy of almost every country in the world has faced an economic crisis including all the countries in Asia, former Soviet Union and Latin America. Only economies that are still standing up to now despite chaos around the world have been the EU and the US. But this will no longer be the case. The big corporations will start collapsing one by one like domino. They have been cooking their books to artificially raise their share prices with the help of crooks from accounting and banking industries. Lax accounting rules have helped them to get away with it during the boom years.
These events will gradually lead to a collapse of capitalism. This is identical to what happened to the socialist economic systems of former Soviet Union and the Eastern Europe. This economic collapse of Europe and the United States of America will cause temporary worry and uncertainty to people as they loose the value of their saving schemes and pensions, which are mostly invested in the stock market. As the American stock prices come down, the value of the dollar will go down with it as people start withdrawing money from American dollar based assets and reinvest money in Euro or Yen based assets or elsewhere. Therefore there will not be money flowing into US to fund its massive trade deficit with the rest of the world.
In the long run United States of America is likely be bankrupt as a country and the Europe is likely to follow suit closely behind the American economic collapse. Though it will cause short-term difficulties for people in the western world on the longer term its effect will be very good for the whole world. The economic collapse of the former Soviet Union brought an end to the cold war and the nuclear arms race between the Russia and the US and brought democracy and freedom to former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. The US will no longer able to maintain its massive military spending, research on star wars, and its massive nuclear arsenal. This will lead to nuclear disarmament and peace on a world scale. This will usher a new Golden Age for the world and pave way for the second coming of Lord Maitreya the Christ.
When people are looking for answers during this economic crisis, the World Teacher, Lord Maitreya the Christ who has been living in the Asian Community in London, England for the past 25 years will come out and start speaking openly about the problems facing the world and how to solve these problems. In 1988 he predicted that a world stock market collapse would start in Japan, an year before the Japanese stock market started going down. Lord Maitreya will advocate sharing of world resources as a way of improving the economic situation in the third world. Then third world will gradually become a market for the goods made in the western world thereby alleviating the economic problems of the whole world.
At present the Western World which has only about 20% of the world population usurp and greedily waste 75% of world's food and 83% of all other world resources while every year about 36 million people including10 million children are dying from starvation in the third world and many more millions are dying from AIDS and other treatable and preventable diseases. USA, which has only 4% of the world population, currently produce 25% of the world output of Carbon Dioxide.
People who try to escape death from starvation are described as economic migrants and barriers are put up to stop people coming to the western world. The five permanent members of the UN Security Council have been covering up human rights abuses of each other and their friends by the use of veto.
This cannot go on like this and the economic collapse under the law of cause and effect will affect the developed nations of the world. The produce of earth given to us by divine providence belong to every man, woman and child living on earth. Every man, woman and child should have an equal share of this produce. In the same way every country on earth whether big or small, rich or poor should have an equal say in world affairs.
The aim of every individual and every nation should be the elimination of all hate and all sense of separateness, evocation of goodwill and right human relations between individuals and between nations and every nation should treat every other nation with respect and dignity that they deserve. We have to register the unity of humanity as a whole and as members of one large family we have to share the resources of earth between its members.
Only way to avoid this economic collapse is by agreeing to share the resources of earth equitably as early as possible. This will provide food, clothing, shelter, basic health care and basic education to starving millions of people on earth. Then no-one would have to die of starvation while food is rotting in the store houses of developed nations, while they are spending their money on greedy materialism, military adventures and star wars. The present war on terrorism is unlikely to succeed until the developed nations tackle the root causes of terrorism which are poverty and injustice in the third world.
A very sophisticated form of barter will replace the present capitalist economic system based on market forces. The market forces have been described as the forces of evil, which causes tens of millions of innocent people to die from starvation and disease. The sharing of resources of earth will bring unprecedented prosperity to the whole world including the US and the EU
