First HDD MPEG4 Video Camcorder

An anonymous reader submits "This is a few weeks old but we have to talk about this. Samsung introduced the world first hard disk drive based camcorder so you don't have to buy those MiniDV, Hi8s, and DVD-Rs. You take pictures, play MP3s, PAL+NTSC video! The picture quality is 350K so not a replacement for digital camera. The downside is the HDD size is 1.5 Gig so you can record video just over an hour! Why can't these bozos let us put a 40gig 2.5 IDE drive and let us record continuously for 25+ hours! Is there a corporate conspiracy to limit recording time of camcorder to about an hour (like DVD-R camcorders)?"

    This is getting ridiculous. I can't belive that anyone would buy these monstorous MP3+VHS+DVD+CD+VCD+BETA+Memory Stick+Flash+Compact Flash+PCMICICA+Microdrive hellspawn. They cost roughly $10240142814562751725, and usually don't do any of their functions well.
    Give me an old-fashioned Sony Handycam, and I'm happy.

    Its a scientifically proven fact that watching more and more porn leads to an insensitivity to normal tiltilating pictures and necessiates more perverse pornography. Which, in a laymans words, just means that internet makes a person perverted.

    As we all know, help for linux is available only from newsgroups. Manuals from distros are useless, i am sure all of you would agree.

    Using too much linux thus would lead you to watching more porn. And at a point of time, straight sex will not turn you on! you will be forced to seek excitement by watching gay porn.

    I hope you all now realise the damage of using linux. It will turn you into a total fag. Dont use it.

    Wow thanks for the heads-up? Phew I thought I was running out of useless crap to buy. I hope some other new and improved gadget comes out next month so I can live a little more beyond my means. Wake up and smell the CC bills people.

    That's not such a great plan, gyroscopic precession is going to amplify the jitters.

    As for your question, the reason they don't allow more than an hour on each media is that you shouldn't be recording more than that. Live your life when it happens, not while boring your friends with your vacation videos and Baby's First Diaper.
