MPlayer Licence Trouble With A Twist

The interesting part in this conflict is that unlike in previous alledged GPL violations, the culprit is not the unwillingness to provide the source, but the prohibition of the distribution of binaries, thereby violating section 6 of the GPL: 'You may not impose any further restrictions on the recipients' exercise of the rights granted herein.' You linux people need to get a clue. I mean my god. I think Linux is a good idea and all, but you guys just don't have a clue about how to get people to switch to linux if you can distribute binaries for the thing.
You guys need to get your shit together. If you want linux to be sucessful then a binary from a PC has to run on a MAC running linux and vice versa. That means the software has to be written in something like a Java like language. Sure it'll be slower, but that's the only way linux will ever dethrone windows. If anyone could run any executable on any machine that would be a huge benefit.
So you guys need to come up with some kind of graphical language that will work cross platform.

No, you're missing the real point, which is that we have a perfectly good music player - MS Media Player. And it runs on WINDOWS no some piece of shit OS written by a bunch of doped out hippies too busy sucking each other's schlongs than to worry about security. Nothing like letting everyone in the fucking world see what you have "under the hood" to keep them our, cripes just but your passcodes on the 'net.
