Linux In Space: Red Hat Rides The Rocket

on NASA experiments to use IP for space missions. The article is a little low-tech, but more details available from NASA (OMNI).
Is this the first Red Hat in space?" It's worth pointing out as well that Debian made the ride nearly six years ago. Still, great news.
Redhat rides YOU!!
...a Beowulf globular cluster of those!

Yes, yes, mod me offtopic, but this is important for all.
Think back to Slashdot over recent months, and ask yourself, is it dying? I think it may be. Between site instability (Slashdot suffering from the "Slashdot effect"), story infrequency (3 or 4 hours or more between new stories), story duplication, the new moderation system changes, or one of any of a handful of other probles, Slashdot is suffering. The worst part is those in charge never tell us much about the goings on at the site anymore. We don't need detailed explanations, but a note every once and again letting us know they're aware of problems would be nice.
I do not say this as a Slashdot hater, or troll, or anything of the sort. In fact, I write this because I care, and I think other readers care, too. Please, Slashdot people in charge, tell us what we can do!
I"m sorry, but no national agencies should have any piece of equipment in space as an internet node. Expect this piece of hardware to get repeated attacks from hackers starting now.
I guess Redhat could use this for PR, though, pretty well.
We had red hats in space long before you...
