Cloneable Mammoth Cells Discovered in Russia
orthogonal writes "Animal Planet reports, in this article, that 'Russian scientists said Wednesday that they've found living cells in a frozen ice-age mammoth' which could be cloned, and gestated in an elephant. I see a new Republican mascot in this."
FP!!!!!!
the classic
... Russia is discovered in cloneable mammoth cells!
No predators? Erm, excuse me, but what about men with guns?
But maybe that's the point. Introduce a new species explicitly for hunting and larger ivory production - it might even help the "real" elepahant population.
As for keeping it in captavity... we all know how well _that_ works.
I sure hope you aren't using the failure of the Dinosaur parks in Jurassic Park as evidence for your point.
We should reconstitute one of the Mammoth's main predators. I think they were called "who-mans". They're a sort of hairless proto-ape that walks on two legs.
It looks like your sarcasm detector is broken.

Lucky, my idiot detector just busted its needle. NOW what do I do in public? Just talk to anyone? Jeez.
at least they wont lose them
Dont ask me...Im just the bass player.
How on earth is this offtopic?
In a discussion about mammoths (who have trunks) a joke was made about them using them to breathe underwater.
How is it then OT to mention that trunks may have been used for this purpose?

then the obligatory ending in this context would be:
You don't clone wooly mammoths, wooly mammoths clone you.
