California Considering More Internet Taxes
dcg writes "San Francisco Chronicle is reporting on how web taxes could help the states, especially California, with its budget woes. One particularly disconcerting comment is from California's Controller Steve Westly. 'In addition to sales taxes, Westly said he is considering a tax on Internet access like those that appear on telephone bills. He also is looking at a tax on software downloads.' Would this affect only purchased software, or could sourceforge.net become a source of revenue for the state..."

Expect more of the same as GWB with his tax cuts will raise the USA debt to 6.3 trillion dollars, (from Clintons era's surplus) BTW that's not including the cost of the Iraq War to come.
so i wouldnt be suprised if they tax breathing next as at some point that money needs to be paid back, either by YOU or your kids! (best you thank them for yours and the rich's tax cuts they are going to pay for)
no wonder the DJI is falling as USA is becoming a bad long term investment, why invest in a country that has no grip on debt or any strategy to pay it back ? not exactly going to bring confidence to the markets

tax is something your going to have to get used to or the economy will totally collapse, so enjoy that SUV and free Internet now, because tomorrow your going to be working for free.
I welcome anything that could move hi-tech jobs OUT of Silicon Valley. There's a whole country out there, most of it with much lower costs of living (and fewer organic tofu-eaters.) Support the California Internet tax!
