Opera Releases "Bork" Edition

David Arnesen writes "Two weeks ago it was revealed that Microsoft's MSN portal targeted Opera users, by purposely providing them with a broken page. As a reply to MSN's treatment of its users, Opera Software today released a very special Bork edition of its Opera 7 for Windows browser. The Bork edition behaves differently on one Web site: MSN. Users accessing the MSN site will see the page transformed into the language of the famous Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show: Bork, Bork, Bork! Here you can find the press release and download link!"

Of course if Microsoft did this to the AOL homepage or something, you'd all be screaming "antitrust violation".

Here's what the first reply to this is going to be: "but M$ is a convicted monopolist!"

WHENS THE LAST TIME YOU BANGED A SUPERMODEL??

Probably never, right? Let's face it, you'll never have the chance to either since they're too busy bangin' rockstars and celebs.

Why not be realistic & go for the normal chicks that are wayyyyy easier to nail with minimal effort. Take Kathleen Fent for example, she's not the hottest chick but after a couple beers & she'll do just fine. Our site has 1000's more plain jane sluts in vids & pictures doing the unimaginable! No snobby cunt supermodels here! Just nasty fuck sluts! All of it for nothing!!!

I think that attitude is kind of the same of many of its users.

Flamebait? Why the hell would anyone EVER use this piece of trash? Opera doesn't display ANYTHING properly, AND THEY CHARGE FOR IT?!

If you're THAT intent on not using Microsoft products, at least use Mozilla.

Well, here in the civilized world, we had this television show called "Muppet Show". It featured Kermit the Frog and a cast of other wildly popular muppets. There was a Sweedish Chef that is the source of the Bork Bork.. CHEF

Hopefully your 386 will be able to crank out the flash animation that will be coming over your 2400 baud modem there in Afganistan...

Last time I heard the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show, it did not at all sound like he spoke Swedish. And the language used on those Opera screenshots is not Swedish either.

  9. MSN changed their page to WORK with opera by ywwg · · Score: 0, Troll

What a bunch of morons you people are. MSN put in those 30 pixel "errors" to work around a bug in opera version 6. Version 7 doesn't contain the bug, and MS hasn't yet added special detection for opera six versus seven. This isn't "targetting" or trying to break a page for opera, they were doing the best they could to work around its bugs

This would actually be informative _if it weren't an article on /. just a month ago_ I mean, seriously, we do all read the same site as you do- it's not like you were giving useful info, there.
