One minor point - you say it is better than apt-get, but how is having to go to a webpage and click better than typing:
    apt-get install package
This also allows you to install more than one program at a time, with all dependencies resolved for you.
apt-get install tuxracer xmms wine mozilla gaim
If I have to find each of these programs webpages and click on a link... well that just doesn't sound as easy or efficient to me.

If you want graphical, there are frontends such as synaptic.
