The Next Level of X-Box Modding

nikitin2k writes "A swedish guy did a really sweet xbox mod. He moved the whole thing into an aluminium chassis, changed the dvd and hdd, installed a mod-chip, wireless lan, leds, switches and Linux. Meet the xXx-box. The site is in swedish, but the pics speak for themselves. Lots of pictures here." I gotta ask tho, at what point would it have made more sense just to buy a regular computer? The green lighting is a nice touch tho.

But an xbox IS a PC. It's not really that amazing what he did. Now, take a Gamecube or a PS2, put it into an xbox case, hook up a hard drive to it and use it as an mp3/divx player and I'll be more impressed. The "hacks" and case mods on slashdot are rather poor to say the least. Has anyone stuck a PC in a Mac G3 B&W tower case? All these aluminum chassis are crap compared to the design of the Mac tower cases. Anyone know of a PC case maker that has a clone of that? i.e. easy handle, fold down side holding motherboard, everything is easy to get to by just swinging down the whole side, etc? This design is perfect.

I did something else: I moved the whole thing into a chassis made of bread, and replace some electronics by some meat. The result was a delicious hamburger! How about that? Yummy

Are you ignorant, arrogant, or trying to raise my ire? There are billions of hungry people, powerful nations bully weaker ones, and it's highly likely that we are seriously damaging the ecosystem of the whole PLANET.

How in the world does this make us successful?
