Net Speed Record Smashed
BrianWCarver writes "The BBC is reporting that scientists have set a new internet speed record by transferring 6.7 gigabytes of data (the equivalent of 4 hours of DVD-quality movies) across 10,978 kilometres (6,800 miles), from Sunnyvale in the US to Amsterdam in Holland, in less than one minute. Average speed: more than 923 megabits per second, or more than 3,500 times faster than a typical home broadband connection. The data was sent across the Internet2 network. Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (Slac) Computer Services participated in the record-breaking event. Slac has an interest in such high-speed transfers as they have accumulated the largest known database in the world, which grows at one terabyte per day."

Yeah, I submitted this story as well. At 7:00am PST this morning. But I'm not bitter. Much.

I just posted this, but here it is in case you didn't see it. Strong evidence that $$$$$exyGal is, in fact, ekrout.
Jesus Fucking Christ. Look at all those links SexyGal posts every other day.
Anyway, interestingly, ekrout seems to die on December 19th last year. It would be interesting to see when $$$$$exyGal made "her" appearance. The oldest $$$$$exyGal journal entry is from January 3rd, this year. This is a mere two weeks after the disappearance of ekrout. Also of HIGH interest, take a loot at the list of people $$$$$exyGal is comparing friends/fans with. Now, look at "her" list of friends/fans. Guess which ONE person is NOT on that list? That's right. ekrout is nowhere on that list. Likewise, $$$$$exyGal is not on ekrout's list (as of this current posting. $$$$$exyGal may read this and change the lists to try to cover it up). Also, strangely, it seems ekrout's webpage is gone. Coincidence? I doubt it. As of right now, I am convinced that $$$$$exyGal, is in fact, none other than ekrout. Reading $$$$$exyGal's and ekrout's comments, I have developed a theory. I think that one day last December, ekrout became obsessed with this friend/fan buildup. He was so desperate to attain more friends/fans than CmdrTaco (the highest count at that time). He must have figured either he couldn't do it under his real name or it would be even more spectacular if he did it with a clean slate. So, he creates a new account, and a new personality to go with it. A couple months later, guess who has the highest friend/fan count on slashdot? That's right. $$$$$exyGal. I think this case is, for the most part, closed. Trolls, make it your duty to bring forth this evidence to expose $$$$$exyGal for who "she" really is!
