Can Science Journalism Be Entertaining and Responsible?
GRW writes "This past week, I attended a panel discussion sponsored by the Perimeter Institute of Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario, entitled "Can science journalism be entertaining and responsible?". This was a discussion regarding the role the media could and should play in the dissemination of scientific issues to the general public. Panelists included newspaper, TV and radio journalists. I thought that this might be a good subject for a Slashdot discussion. What do you think about science journalism? How can it better communicate to the general public about science and the scientific method? Can science journalism do a better job of helping people distinguish science from pseudoscience?"

As a clan, we will post interesting and funny commentary (READ: GAY COMMENTARY) to spice things up here at Slashdot. We will also use our skills to ensure that good clan commentary is moderated up very highly. However, if, after some time, you are not successful as a clan member, those of us still in the clan will help assist your demise (READ: GAY BASHING) by moderating you down so far that you can no longer post under your clan username.
Our official forum for discussing clan business will be here, (READ: GAY PRIDE NEWSLETTER) in my journal. However, as a clan member, you can post your own journal as well that other clansmen may post to. It is also imperative that you befriend all up-and-coming clansmen and turn on Slashdot's Web messaging system to be notified of clan events. Also, your clan account signature must mention that you're in the (1337) clan and link to our clan-related content.
