AOL's Mystro TV vs Tivo?
admiral2001 writes "Here is is a NYTimes story about AOL-Time-Warner's plans for a TiVo-killing 'Mystro TV' (nytimes annoying free registration required). They plan to begin rolling this out sometime in the next two years. Their major features are the simple pause, rewind, and fast forward that all PVRs have. However, they've taken the obvious stance to "let[s] networks set the parameters, dictating which shows users can reschedule, and it also creates ways for networks to insert commercials." The article even mentions how they could get an advantage in pushing their product because "viewers could try out Mystro TV by pushing a button on their remote"."
EAT IT MUTHAFUCKA'S D to the Motherfuckin' C!
In researching my family history, I found out that my grandfather died at the Auschwitz concentration camp. Seems he got really drunk one night and fell out of his guard tower.
Rob Malda really enjoys the company of young Mexican boys. He like to give them bad meat in the can. This tends to hurt their little behinds and make them bleed. He is afraid of straight men and women. He even scammed the slashdot community about his supposed marriage. You are a sick bastard Taco.
I have been following the stories and comments surrounding AOL-Time-Warner, and frankly, I'm appalled. What meaningless self-inflicted psychological trauma is AOL-Time-Warner going through now? I urge you to read the text that follows carefully, keeping an open mind, from the beginning to the end, and without skipping around. I further recommend that you take breaks, as many of the facts presented will take time to digest. The fact that I call this phenomenon "AOL-Time-Warner-ism" is particularly striking, since I am certain that if I asked the next person I meet if he would want AOL-Time-Warner to create an unwelcome climate for those of us who are striving to oppose evil wherever it rears its uncouth head, he would say no. Yet we all stand idly by while AOL-Time-Warner claims that it's perfectly safe to drink and drive. Whenever I ponder over the meanings and implications of AOL-Time-Warner's hateful reinterpretations of historic events, I feel little peace. No wonder that I would like to comment on AOL-Time-Warner's attempt to associate fascism with metagrobolism. There is no association.
Of course, AOL-Time-Warner's platitudes serve no purpose other than to wreck our country, derail our civilization, and threaten the human race with extinction. I say "of course," because AOL-Time-Warner doesn't want us to know about its plans to doctor evidence and classification systems and make antisocial generalizations to support irresponsible, preconceived views. Otherwise, we might do something about that. Call me lousy if you'd like; I will still do everything in my power to comment on AOL-Time-Warner's insinuations. Then, I will announce to the world that the gloss that AOL-Time-Warner's dupes put on AOL-Time-Warner's utterances unfortunately does little to beat it at its own game.
Antipluralism has its stronghold among juvenile perjurers. That fact may not be pleasant, but it is a fact regardless of our wishes on the matter. I have absolutely nothing in common with AOL-Time-Warner. And if that seems like a modest claim, I disagree. It's the most radical claim of all. Anyhow, I guess I've run out of things to say, so let me just leave you with one parting wish: Together, may we fight for what is right.
Mdog, you have permanently damaged my eyes and my brain. I curse you! I hate you!
That makes goatse.cx look like a Disney feature.
Bastard.
Degenerate.
Sadist.
I have to go wash my eyes with soap now.

For those of you who hate registering...don't read the article.
The NY Times wrote the article. It's theirs. If you want to read it, they have the right to make you jump through whatever hoops they want.
If we want to demonstrate that we can be responsible with copyrights and that draconic copy-protection methods aren't necessary, perhaps we shouldn't blatantly violate copyrights in the name of convenience, eh?
What does somebody stealing other people's stuff have to do with GPL? All my friends who support and push Linux OWN (as in bought) what bit of MS based software that they run. They, like my self, do not have illegal music.
My friends that only run MS are loaded with stolen software and downloaded music.
I have noticed that it is the MS world where all the p2p software for stealing music or getting lots of porn is targeted at. The funny thing is that almost always the ideas for these are developed in OSS for much better uses.
The real question that should be asked is , do the users of certain products simply emulate the companies/people that produced them?
I prefer the "u" in honour as it seems to be missing these days.
I thought that was 'strailia. Oh wait! Thats where all the people who were not wanted in their homelands were sent.
British teeth... American lardasses... Canadian..., er, um, hmm, nothing more offensive than "bumps on logs" comes to mind. It's the quiet ones you have to watch, though, ya know.
You could've hired me.
