Echelon Used to Capture Terrorist
An anonymous reader writes "Echelon was used to track and capture Khalid Sheikh Mohammed." Ahh, bitter sweet victories. The article kind of explains what Echelon is, and pretty much says that those disposable phones really don't have much security at all.
The real question is, does echelon have the technical ability to tear a person's balls off once the subject has been located?
Yet another example of the end justifying the means. A bad guy was caught, due to a system that may or may not violate privacy rights. Score one for the Good Guys.
I wouldn't be surprised if VA Software itself was funneling money to Al Quaeda and other anti-American terrorist organizations, due to the rampant anti-American sentiment that runs rampant through both comments and the little snide remarks made by Michael, CmdrTaco, etc. in the story submissions. I hope Echelon enables the authorities to catch you cretins.
Before you sign up for the subscription service so that you can continue to get your oh-so-beloved "FIRST POST!!!!!!", just ask yourself exactly where the money is going. Maybe to kill another 3,000 innocent Americans.

If you look at all of the horrible things that happened between WWII and now, George Bush Sr. was directly involved. He is an evil mother fucker. Don't you think it's just a little chilling that a TON of republicans who SHOULD have been in the twin towers on Sept. 11th were all mysteriously "ill" on the same day? What about the fact that an ex-FBI agent who was investigating the Bush family's ties to Osama Bin Laden mysteriously got "re-assigned" to work in the Twin Towers just a few days before Sept. 11th? And then, the general knowledge that pretty much everyone knows now... THE US GOVERNMENT *DID* KNOW THAT THERE WERE GOING TO BE ATTACKS. But, they needed something to boost the idiot in office's ratings with the public. And what better way to do that than start setting up for a war? It's the American way!

Wasn't he being un-American when he kept saying terrible things about Bill Clinton? (I wish Clinton was in office, I'd rather have a president getting sucked off in the Whitehouse rather than bending over for a dickless wonder like GW) Stupid motherfuckers!! Indirectly, YES.
The US has a reputation of supporting anybody that makes them money. i.e. the royal family of Saudi Arabia (home of a certain mr. Bin Laden), Saddam (Before he invaded another US supported oil state), the Sjah of Iran, Israel (Who has occupied palestinian territory for 40 years and violated more UN resolutions than Iraq). In all cases people are/were oppressed and fundamentalists offered a way out: go to heaven if you fight for a just cause against the big evil.
A lot of people in the western would agree that the US isn't know for having ethics in such cases (democracy and freedom appearantly are only important if you are a US citizen). It is not hard to see how somebody who grew up worse conditions would see it as plain evil instead of stupid.
It still doesn't justify terrorism but it sure explains why people do things like this.
If the US was to threat people with respect (not exactly the capitalist way I know...) there would be far less terrorists.
