AMD Releases 12 New Chips at CeBIT
SuperDuG writes "AMD now offers three categories of processor for notebooks grouped under the Athlon XP-M brand. It labels them "desktop replacement," "standard," and the new "low-voltage". AMD plans to make a desktop replacement in the notebook computer market using the Barton Core, a technology designed to double the CPU Cache. Looks like yet another case of AMD being one-up on Intel."

Did I miss something? When was the first time? Oh, and how is this one up? Centrino anyone? 4-7hrs battery life...

AMD is losing a very large amount of money and will probably be forced to declare bankruptcy within just a few weeks. AMD products are outstanding but who will make them after AMD goes bankrupt? The Chinese government? Doubtful. Intel? Even more doubtful. No Tier 1 computer manufacturer uses AMD chips, not because there is anything wrong with them, but because Intel controls the market and will punish any Tier 1 company that was foolish enough to use AMD. Intel does not care what AMD does because they know that AMD is not long for this world. Intel just wants AMD to fade quietly away and then we will all say 'yeah, those AMD products were technically very good but AMD was never able to market them very well.' Then all of the suits at Intel will about bust a gut laughing at us while they collect our money for those P4 systems with Intel Inside. End of story. If you want AMD, you had best build it yourself and you had better do it sooner rather than later. Don't wait 'til May, for sure.
I'm sorry, but linking to Tom's Hardware? Aside from the obvious inaccuracies in many of their articles, their obvious bias within individual articles varies based on who's paying for banner ads that week. My understanding was that no one who knows their stuff actually takes them seriously any more.

Flamebait? Damn, looks like Tom himself is a moderator tonight.
I love going down to the elementary school, watching all the kids jump and shout, but they dont know I'm using blanks.
Why should the truth stand in the way of modding down?
:)
Besides, if I wanted to post flamebait, I'd talk about what an arrogant asshole Tom is. But I wouldn't do such a thing, of course.
