Users Conned by Cable Con
RJ Mansfield writes "MSNBC is running a story on users attempting to con their cable companies being connned. The high-cost filter being sold on Ebay and through email Spam to bypass Pay-Per-View (PPV) digital cable systems is a readily available filter that only temporarily blocks the PPV charges. Users are getting shocked when the cable company then bills the cable user for all of the ordered PPV."

The worst terrorist attack in recorded history occurred in September 2001, followed by a WAR against Islam in Afghanistan and now we're about to be involved in ANOTHER war against Islam in Iraq, and you people have the gall to be discussing cable Internet service problems???? My *god*, people, GET SOME PRIORITIES!
The bodies of the thousands of innocent civilians who died (and will die) in these unprecedented events could give a good god damn about obscure science fiction, your childish Lego models, your nerf toy guns and whining about the lack of a "fun" workplace, your Everquest/Diablo/D&D fixation, the latest Cowboy Bebop rerun, or any of the other ways you are "getting on with your life" (here's a hint: watching Cowboy Bebop in your jammies and eating a bowl of Shreddies is *not* "getting on with your life"). The souls of the victims are watching in horror as you people squander your finite, precious time on this earth playing video games!
You people disgust me!
I just heard some sad news on talk radio - Iraqi president (holder of the popular vote) Saddam Hussein, was found dead in his Baghdad presidential palace this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an Iraqi icon.
I'm sitting in class listening to a long lecture and I didn't want to leave to use the restroom. Long story short, I peed in my shorts and now my panties and shorts are soaked. Anyways, I'm hoping for a way to get out of my predicament without attracting any attention. Any suggestions? Please help me!
Things I've learned from cowboy bebop:
a ge 2.html
- Don't leave things in the fridge.
- Have care when it comes to women, kids and dogs...
- Never piss off a woman with a BFG. (Big Friggin Gun)
- Be like water...free and flowing.
- Do not underestimate the pretty girl, for she too kickth much ass.
- It is prefectly resonable to wear the same outfit every day...as long as you wash it
frequently.
- Of course it is possible to walk obliviously into a hostage situation and not get shot.
The above is best done while wearing headphones.
It is perfectly safe to aggrivate the terrorist.
It is also prefectly safe to ignore the terrorist.

Chicago2600.net more than a lifestyle, its a survival trait.
The porn industry has hit this year's low sales mark. Even Jenna Jameson cannot afford to get her crotch waxed for that silky smooth look I've all... err I mean YOU ALL have grown to enjoy so much. Ya.. thats it.
ENTRAPMENT - A person is 'entrapped' when he is induced or persuaded to commit a crime that he had no previous intent to commit.
Isn't it illegal to entrap people by soliciting via spam email for them to purchase your illegal product then twisting the screws because they use it? If the government can't do it, why is Big Business allowed to?
How many times have we heard this? It's thrown around all too often, as if humans have some overriding sense of reality that can tell them what is reasonable, and what is not, when dealing with technology that they have zero experience in. If you don't know how digital cable systems work, you might believe this will do the trick. Then again, if you read this article, you might believe that satellite test-cards are phony as well, but guess what...
"Gee, a $200 computer... That sounds too good to be true, I guess WalMart got into the fraud business. Not me! I'm not going to get scammed into buying their $200 computer."
"Gee, you mean my ability to setup computer networks can get me hundreds of thousands of dollars? Nah! That couldn't be true."

...and that is completely immaterial to the situation. Go get the book "The Law that never was", and you will see it documented that the 16th Amendment never passed. Which means that the IRS is completely unconstitutional from the getgo. Any smart *and informed* person will take that info, and check it out, and then say "okay, what's that got to do with anything? If I don't pay, I get free room, board, and 250 lb gorilla boyfriend roomate, courtesy of the IRS." Which is correct. But let me point out that this information is actually VERY useful. Because it lets you know what kind of a government you are dealing with. To begin with, if the Amendment never passed, but was enacted anyways, it means that your votes are of limited value. Secondly, it means that the government is willing to act outside the law to get what it wants. Thirdly, it means that it is still not interested in having it *publicly and commonly known* that it is criminal. So that tells you a ton about who you are dealing with. It also tells you a ton about how to behave, given whatever goals you have. The only thing that this book is NOT useful for is getting you out of paying your taxes. If you want to get out of paying your taxes, then make a ton of money, and then visit your Senator with a nice large donation, and request -- not just no taxes -- but a nice large subsidy, without strings, that is more than your taxes. Not that that is moral (that's stealing from others). So the other alternative is to emmigrate.
