Google Tries To Silence IPO Rumours

egoff writes "Google has put off an IPO for now, saying "Thus far, laziness has always won out. There are so many better things to do." The New York Post suggests that Google's focus on R&D doesn't really mesh with the financial accountability of a publicly traded company. American capitalism was supposed to be managed competition, not a handful of monopolistic megacorporations driven to increase profits by any means necessary and above all else. Wall Street and our screwed up corporate laws and their associated intellectual property laws have got to be reformed. Sadly, it won't happen until things get really desperate. Or, if history holds any example, several years after things have been desperate for a long time.
I applaud Google for staying out of it.
