Too Much Free Software
An anonymous reader writes "The plethora of Free Software applications available today, none working perfectly, is a problem which stands in the way of major adoption of Linux on the desktop. In order to conquer the desktop, we have to stand united. Read the article on Freshmeat."
The plethora of Microsoft applications available today, none working perfectly, is NOT a problem which stands in the way of the stranglehold Bill and Steve maintain over the desktop.
Grr.

I agree.
To all you nay-sayers out there: I want you to name one application out there that does not have a full-featured alternative in Linux.
Photoshop (which I call "Photo$shop") has the GIMP.
Microsoft Office (which I call "Michro$soft Offi$ce") has OpenOffice.
Adobe Premiere (which I call "A$dobe Pre$miere") has Film GIMP or whatever it's called.
Seriously, why does wannabe-intellectual crap by little 16 year-olds like the author of this story even get posted?
Slashdot is trolling us again.
"Inexpensive, Fast, Good -- You May Choose Two."
In India you can choose 3.

First off, YOU FAILED IT! Secondly, if developers don't like being called stupid, they should stop being so stupid. Duh. If a developer wants to be taken seriously, they need to release a quality product. Hell, I can take a crap in a box, and mark it open-source for you. I've got the free time. But all you're going to have is a piece of shit just as useful as any other open-source-software out there right now. Free software, for the most part, is too plentiful, and far too sub-par. Why? Because some l33t coder decided they knew what the world was missing, and they were going to write some new program to save the world. Problem is, they suck as coders. So, they get the idea, and how they want it to work, but can't actually produce. So they start a project on sourceforge, and then wait for other people to finish it for them. Thing is, though, the other people suck as coders to. If you want a quality product, you're gonna need your Microsoft's of the world getting the job done for you. Admit it, you know i'm right, too.
