Accessing WebDAV on PDAs

I have a Pocket PC and would think that WebDAV would be a great feature/component to add to a PDA (mostly those working with WebDAV-enabled CMS or portals, via a WiFi or WAN connection)... but the Pocket Office apps (Pocket Word in particular) just suck.

It would be nice to see an open-source office "suite" for Pocket PC (or even for the Zaurus for that matter) that isn't as braindead or limited as Pocket Word/Excel/Outlook, but not as fat as OpenOffice.org... yet still be able to work with Word and Excel documents natively. Maybe this could be a possibility with the Compact .NET Framework and optimized C++ controls?

Whilst on the topic of open-source software for PDAs... an open-source free or low-cost (as in beer) SSH/SCP/SFTP client would be super nice.

Well, I use the built-in screen keyboard right now myself; not the most elegant solution, I assure you.

I'm considering looking for a keyboard/case combination for mine. Though, in the end, I might wait until AFTER I upgrade next so that I can pick up something with wireless LAN.

Depending on what your needs are, you might be better off with a Zaurus. By your commentary, I'm guessing you're somewhat high end on the tech scale, so a Zaurus might be just what you really need.

Have you tried Linux Familiar or Intimate ?

I own an iPaq, and I've tried the Familiar distribution as well as the intimate which is a full blown one.

I'm pretty sure that using the last one you may have tools that are WebDAV enabled.

Furthermore, that's all open source. Linux rocks.

It isn't a really user friendly solution, but couldn't PerlDAV work? Although that depends on what you specifically want to do. Provided you can get a perl distribution for your platform of choice...
