Stash Your Hard Drive In The Attic
RegardsSJ writes "Robert X. Cringley on his PBS website mentions a $479 wireless, fanless 120gb network storage/file server appliance (running linux) in his column. He thinks the killer app for this one is for keeping your porn storage hidden, if you're busted by the cops. I think his concept is weak, given the wireless signal is traceable (security through obscurity?), WEP is breakable, and the fact that you have to have the thing plugged in somewhere... The company selling the device is martian.com. Anybody use one?" Now that it's possible to stream audio and video through various boxes originally serving other purposes (like TiVo and PlayStation2), this looks like a good companion piece, too.
Is anybody afraid of all this radiation that we are surrounding ourselves with? Sitting in front of a computer all day is bad enough but everywhere you go there is more spectrum in use. I love the idea of a wireless world but I hope our kids don't come out looking blue.
I've seen reports that cell phones can noticeably heat up the users brain (seriously!). Anything concrete yet on the overall effect?
I think the social stigma is much more serious.
unless your wife's running airsnort
And idiots like you are constantly making general statements like "all Danes are beautiful and intelligent."
That's not what I said, fucktard. I've spent a bit of time there - a girlfriend I went out with is Danish. I know what I'm talking about. Certainly you don't see many lumps of lard floating around like in the US.
Heh! Clearly you have not been paying attention to UN Security Council debates between the cultured, wise, and beautiful Europeans and the ignorant, backward (and now ugly) Americans.
No, i`ve been paying attention. What does that have to do with US foreign policy - helping fasict governments overthrow democratically elected one?
Please remove your head from your ass at your next opportunity and observe the world around you, dumpling.
Heh - pretty rich, coming from an American.
Why does my "I, Cringely" slashbox still display the 3 April entry? Is the 10 April entry on one of these wireless drives somewhere, or something?
What countries are those? That seems extreme, especially considering that the swastika had a positive meaning until it was abused by the Nazis.
