Apple Announcement Broadcast Live

ignipotentis writes "Apparently Apple's 'music to your ears' announcement will be broadcast live. I'm a bit confused by this, however I hope someone will pick this up and netcast it perhaps?" Apple usually broadcasts these things on satellites, so they can be picked up in the Apple stores etc.; the question is, will Apple broadcast it in QuickTime, will TechTV pick it up?

People, don't get worked up over the Apple Hype Machine. It's partly fed by apple with falsities to help it grow, continued by the wild imaginations of the rumor press fascination with Apple, then replayed on more credible news sites. It happens time and time again

Watching it isn't bad, but expecting it to be something truly mindblowing is to set yourself up for a letdown.

and I'm sure they feel very special.

But your logic sucks. Why would companies trying to earn money (hopefully) care how special 3% of the market feels?

The poster's point is that the industry's ideas come from Apple, and he's right on. The PDA? Came from Apple (though they obviously missed out by dumping the Newton project). Wireless networking? Wasn't popular until Airport. Dell even claimed to have built wireless networking into their laptops the very first. OK..... The sad thing is that misinformed people believe it and say, "wow, Dell is cool." Computers that aren't beige? Spread like a wildfire though the computer industry and far beyond (we all know about the fruit-colored grills, etc). I'm sure most of us appreciate that not every computer sold today is beige... Firewire. Intel's USB still doesn't compare with the many benefits of Firewire. Are there any USB only digital camcorderl? I won't say there aren't because I don't know, but it's unlikely. GUI. Yep, the graphical user interface is pretty important eh?. Licensed by Apple (from Xerox) and stolen by Microsoft. Text-to-speach and speach recognition on personal computers? Apple again, hmmm... Actually Apple has made too many software firsts to list, so I won't go further. The internet? It came from NeXT which is now Apple. Laptops that won't give you a hernia when lifting them... Many computer makers still haven't fixed this problem. Portable MP3 listening. Oh yeah, the iPod happens to be the most popular (and basically the best) portable mp3 player. Object Oriented Programming: from Apple. I'm tired and want to go to bed soon, but the list continues.

Why do you think the media and everyone else cares when Apple (a computer maker for 3% of the market) is about to speak? They'd simply like to know what's coming for the other 97% in the next 6 months to a year (hopefully not longer).

Has anyone considered that the news might be about osx.3? feature freeze is about a week away, and still no press release or any official news about this... Though music to you ears does sound like somthing different, its still a posibility...

Macs rule, as we all know. Rumors blow. So enough already with the speculation! Wait for the broadcast, and get it from the big man himself.

Of course TechTV will pick it up. The Screensavers know everything! I hope Leo Laporte didn't hear you say that! And I'm sure someone will get it out there in Quicktime. Unless, of course, if whacking QT is what this broadcast is all about. But I don't want to start any rumors.
