Calling Software Reliability Into Question

phillymjs writes "CNN is running a story on software reliability, and how the lack of it may cost more and more lives as technology creeps further into everyday products. It appears a debate is finally starting amongst everyday (read: non-geek) people about vendor liability for buggy software. Some opponents of the liability push are unsurprising: Says the story, 'Microsoft contends that setting [reliability] standards could stifle innovation, and the cost of litigation and damages could mean more expensive software.' The article also says, however, that consumers' favortism of flashy products over reliable ones is partly to blame for the current state of software."

Unfortunately no. Due to alcohol and weed (420 lol) consumption over the weekend, Sunday piss is usually a sick grey with visible chunkiness creat by leftover spunk from saturday night's porn marathon.

Most of you uptight suburbanites turned into hippies by your public education and liberal schools. You act like everything the government does is somehow evil and approaches a totalitarian state. What you do not realize is that liberalism is marxism and marxism is a powerful tool to manipulate and control the masses. Also consider how most liberal speech is very full of emotion and tries to tug at your emotions. With ideas of "this isn't fair", "people are poor and starving over there", and if you go to any sort of liberal rallies you will see people using very expressive (sometimes overly exaggerated speech). Keep this in mind, this is a common technique to excite people and get them involved emotionally in your cause. And emotions have no place in logic. Be like Spock.

To reiterate; think before you make decisions about some ruling, try very hard not to have some knee jerk reaction. Most of the posts I've seen so far were reactionary and "canned" answers. For the few here that did post reasonable responses, I'm glad. If we're going to have a political/philosophical debate it is necessary that both sides be able to present a reasonable, well thought out argument.
