A Truly Silent Desktop PC
boris writes "The first in a series of turnkey systems seem to be coming through the fence from Hush Technologies. The systems weigh in a little expensive but look to be incredible quality. This is according to the review over at HEXUS.net who have a heap of photos up of the unit as well as an article. Is this finally the step to having a true PC in every living room? HTPC here we come!" These EPIAs are everywhere now; we mentioned the M-100 the other day; less-expensive ready-built systems (in various configurations) are available from SolarPC, too.
Desktop PC Truly Silent You!
Hi Matthew, I was just curious as to your e-mail munging technique:
<matt@act[ ]ity.co.uk ['ual' in gap]>
Does that work out to matt@actuality.co.uk? Did I unmung it correct? Do you find that munging your matt@actuality.co.uk address is effective in fighting spam?
I might try it myself. Thanks for the idea!
that's right. if all 40 of you would just read the 'storIE', buy the product/stock/lie, & just go away, that would be grand.
any 'posting' required can be done buy trained bots who respond positively to everIE 'offer'.
but no, some of y'all continue to insist that the forum WE built, has been turned into sum sort of tout sheet for Godless payper liesense stock markup frauds, that makes the SourceForgerIE(tm) accomplice to execrable.
this is what you wanted? lookout bullow. no amount of phonIE ?pr? spew is going to balance the b00ks for US.
"Warning: your site 'http://some.sit' has been featured in a Slashdot article scheduled to be published in 3.5 minutes... This is just enough time to replace your heavy graphics with text and move to panic mode. Alternatively, time to boil a soft-cooked egg before your web site collapses. We hope you have a lovely day."

the 'silence' is already deafening.
"I can't see staying here for much longer if the mad-Bush has his way. I plainly agree with your views on Muslim fanaticism. As you may know, I am first and foremost a non-religious person. As such, I hate and despise all kinds of religious fanaticism and I do not condone any. I am too much aware of the drag and the carnage that established religions have foisted on human civilization. The difference is that I see what's looming in America as just another kind of religious-corporate fanaticism, one armed with the most numerous and lethal weapons of all, and one thereby able to unsettle and subvert all dearly gained democratic institutions. I am not anti-American. I still love this country. However, I am tooth and nail against that illegitimate, reckless administration, because I happen to be perspicacious enough to see where it is leading us and the world. I am not even against the "redressment" of Iraq per se. Launched by any other president, this same war would have appeared more "justified" to millions. But anything coming from the Bush team is a threat to freedom and individual rights here and throughout the world. We know who these guys are, and they ain't better than Saddam. They just have more power and their power is legalized by their financial and corporate clout. My other argument against yours, of course and again, is that Saddam's regime was the least involved in Isalmic terrorism in all of the Middle-East. As for his possesion of WMD's, it has not been proven and will probably never be. Pakistan should have been the first target of the Bush ire in that respect, if a prime target there had to be. In Iraq,it is more a matter of personal family vandeta and political gain than anything else. Also, I deplore the fact that this war is the very first agression war in the history of the USA, and it will lead us onto a more than slippery slope if we do not put a stop to the rise of that mad hegemonic totalitarianism that's coming from Washington. They do know how to use fear and popular paranoia to reach their goals, and nobody will be safe including you. Anyway, if I move back to Europe, let's keep in touch. You may someday have to request asylum, and I won't slam my door in your face. (Especially if you bring along a few barrels of california wine.) This is valid for all my American friends, those who are now aware, and those who will become so sooner or later as the events unravel."

"When her family returned to their home for the first time since the war yesterday, she crawled over to a small dark oval - a cluster bomblet - which detonated, killing her outright, and injuring her mother, and two of her boy cousins. Only one doctor was on duty at Yarmouk yesterday - it shut down at the beginning of the week - and he left the grave diggers and went to try to save the family. Rawand's father, Mohammed Suleiman, was inconsolable. "I am going to kill America - not today, after 10 years," he swore. Battle at hospital By the rubbish bins, the unknown man was barely breathing. His eyes were closed, and he could not speak. After what seemed like an eternity, the doctor was brought, and he ran an intravenous drip into his arm from a trolley of supplies abandoned in the yard. The hospital ceased to function on Monday when it became a main battle theatre between US forces and Iraqi fighters. But there was no time to tell the wounded streaming in from other parts of Baghdad. "Many cars came from here and there. They didn't know there was a battle. When they came, the American forces shot them," said Mohammed al-Hashimi, a doctor at Yarmouk. A Volvo was hit directly opposite the hospital, a Volkswagen a few yards away, and an ambulance further down the road. "There were injured people in those cars, and we wanted to treat them. We were in our coats," Dr Hashimi said, tugging at his white doctor's collar. "We took a gurney to transfer the injured patients. They saw them, and they still shot them." He interrupted his story to beg a car to take Mr Suleiman's relatives to the nearest hospital - a paediatric centre. There was little the staff there could do. "We are working with no anaesthetic at all," said Iman Tariq al-Jabburi. "The doctors are exhausted. There is no water to wash our hands from patient to patient. But what we really need is security." She summoned an ambulance to move the family - and the unknown man - to yet another hospital, Saddam medical centre, once the finest facility in a city known for the quality of its medical care, and now the only hospital with a functioning operating theatre. Another doctor stepped out of the crowded ward, grabbing a cigarette from a passing ambulance driver. "Where is freedom in Iraq?" he said. "Where?"

Huh? Is there a reason why one should be afraid of your roommate knowing you're a queer? If you end up living with a homophobe, you can always tell that he's free to move but you're staying (or else you'll sue him/university for sexual discrimination).
Look, I'm not Matthew, and I have no idea why you have a problem with him. I just think it's a bit rude to post a mailto: link with his email address on when he obviously wants it obfuscated.
I don't care WHO the fuck you are. Bottom line is, I suspect you are Matthew, and as a result of either your big mouth (in the case that you are indeed Matthew), or as a result of your terrorist acts (in the case that you have framed the innocent Matthew), Matthew will be subjected to shock and awe as the spam flood begins (I have already signed you/him up for dozens of spam).
Matthew is now getting the just desserts of a big mouth, or is an unfortunate victim of what we in the industry like to call 'collateral damage'.
Now shut your FUCKING HOLE before this situation degrades for you (or Matthew) further.
