Sega Cancels Merger With Sammy

After many complicated and confusing rumors, Bloomberg Japan seems to have confirmed that Sega Corp has abandoned plans to merge with Sammy. Apparently, Sega couldn't agree financial terms with Sammy, who specialize in pachinko machines, and also have some home and arcade-based videogame development. The front-runner for a Sega merger/sale is now Namco, but Microsoft and Electronic Arts have also been mentioned as possible suitors. The saga continues..

    Sega and Sammy shouldnt merge.

    What Sega should do is simply downsize, I want to see Sega stay in business and a merger is not the way to do it. What Sega should do is get rid of some of their development teams but keep the good ones, or sell some of the development teams which arent their best but which are very good.

    Definately keep Sonic team, definately keep AM2, but the other teams, Sega can sell them, or make PC games with them.

    ...anyway? They already lose the console wars, do they seriously think they can stage a comeback now? They need to like, lay low, gather their strength. Add a bunch of car customization to Sega GT :)
