More on Media Consolidation

A few more links on the important FCC decision coming up in a few weeks (see our previous story for more). Common Cause has a good set of background information and advocacy. The Washington Post has a story about the decision, focusing on how independent television stations will be squeezed even harder. This article about ClearChannel is a useful primer about the future of mass media.

Your days are numbered Liberal scum. Your monopoly of ABC/CBS/NBC/NY Times/WAsh Post is at an end. The rise of Fox News and the popularity of Internet news sources and talk radio has destroyed the Liberal Democratic bias in this country.
NY Times is a mess because of its PC diversity programs and no longer has any credibilty. As a Libertarian I can't stop laughing at the plight of you liberal democrat smelly unbathed slashdot losers.

Wait...putting reporters in combat units where they can show pictures of dead Iraqis and document U.S. atrocities is a BAD thing?

Or else the reporters could simply work for big leftist newspapers. That way, they can just invent stories. They might get caught, but if their skin is the right color it'll just be brushed aside.

Did you see any dead Iraqis or U.S. atrocities on any of the news outlets that had reporters in combat units?

    "In bedded" reporters... Exactly.

Those "big leftist newspapers" are more independent than the rest of the state-run media in this country.

National Communist Radio is the worst. In my area, they run the same exact programming on two seperate affiliates. They used to have Bluegrass in the afternoons on one of the affiliates, but took that off to actually play what was being played on another station. Bluegrass was on 88.5, and NPR left-pinko talk was on 91.5. Now it's lefty-pinko talk on both.

I mean, come on. Give me a break. Sure there's nothing wrong with having a single station with lefty-pinko the sky is falling anti-Bush fluff on one station. But duplicated?

They could, but maybe they have personal reasons for wanting to stay in the US.
