Matrix Reloads to $42.5 Million Opening
Dante Alighieri writes "Box Office Mojo,
the Washington Post, E!, and others reports that The Matrix Reloaded opened with a record of $42.5 million in ticket sales."
I saw it yesterday and have a variety of opinions on it, but the short review is that it isn't the original, but it's pretty damn cool, and I'm first in line for Revolution.
Do to the use of heavy language in the movie one go in the audience said "shuta fuck up" while the creator of the matrix was talking. Everything started laughing. The way he saved trinity was kinda stupid and very cheap.
So all of the masses that whine and piss and moan and cry about how evil the MPAA and the big movie studios are, and how they are KILLING us all and destroying our freedoms, are the SAME group of people that fall all over themselves to fellate the latest Matrix flick and proudly explain how they dutifully followed all the other sheeple they are so more holier than to fork over their money to the MPAA. Pathetic.
You whiny liberal socialist Slashdotters deserve every corporate ass-raping you get.
NOT ONE POST RECOMMENDING NOT SUPPORTING THIS FILM AND THE MPAA.
Not one.
Hypocrites.
Hi Slashdot,
I'm Jack Valenti, head of the MPAA. I just wanted to express my undying gratitude for helping us out. Sure, you moan and whine all day loing about how we're "ruining the internet" and "eroding your rights"... and yeah, I have to admit that we are doing those things. But lobbying congress to enact more draconian copyright laws takes -- you guessed it -- money. Money that you gladly shell out every time we release a movie about hobbits, or time-traveling cyborgs, or the latest "Matrix". Thanks especially to CmdrTaco, who assured me last night after I sodomized him that he would be first in line for the next one.
Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Jack Valenti
your score of 1, would indicate you are probably in the matrix right now. you probably are reading your own comment back and think your score was +5 insightful.
your evaluation of the movie, your comment and your thoughts on the movie while they seem logical to you...
but here in the real world, it's bunk.
it's shit.
the matrix sucked.
there was no plot.
the cg was obvious.
lacking logic.
Sorry, but when the price of a movie exceeds my hourly wage, minute for minute, it's not worth seeing.
Since I'm horribly underemployed (like most of our readers), this rules out most movies.
The only solution is to *rent* DVDs, burn them, and watch them at their "measly" resolution.
Were I not to pay to see the "hit" movies Hollywood and their bitches pitch at us continuously, I'd be able to afford an incredible television upon which I could watch DVDs in the comfort of my home.
The Matrix is just a juiced-up version of Plato's "The Cave". Unless something mind-altering happens, it remains nothing more.
"Saddam Hussein cavorts with terrorists."
