UK Pushing ID Cards
lga writes "David Blunkett will attempt to introduce "entitlement cards" after the next general election in the UK. This is despite an overwhelming response against the idea through stand.org.uk. Carrying the cards will not be compulsory, but registration for the national database will be. Not only that, but the cards will be paid for by a £25 price increase on passports and driving licences! I guess mass deaths don't count as long as they are delayed and slow. We still are having mass deaths from gulf war 1, in the iraqi population, and with gulf war one vets, who have been all but forgotten. I think the number is up over 40,000 or so now,but, of course, all those deaths are "in their heads". The official count is only 200 or so, the real count is a lot higher, but because the official us propaganda spinners won't acknowledge it, it's not real. I have no idea how many in iraq, some x-huge number though.
As to afghanistan, how many tons of opium did they go back to producing this year, with US troops and spooks all over that nation? Wasn't that just one of the many reasons to go in, it was a "narco terrorist" nation? They had several public reasons, another they never talk about though was the Taliban refusal to sign a really bad business deal on the natural gas pipeline. Funny the unocal rep who couldn't get them to sign the deal is now an overlord puppet over there, installed by the US. That one is just too embarrasing, isn't it? Oh, whoops, ties to the administration too, cash business ties. And it's another funny "coincidence" they had all time record levels lately of the opium production. And who exactly again called that major "timeout" in the afghan war, when the US spooks flew out all the top taliban and al queda, no big deal, just the top 8,000 "terrorists". Then they resumed the war, told the major media to shut up about it, and grabbed some mostly low level goat herders for the guantanmo training exercises and photo ops. But never really any named bigshot US humans involved, just "it happened" no explanation, one of those 15 second sound bites that comes and goes. Another *coincidence* that keeps getting forgotten about no doubt.
There's layers of truths and facts,and I agree with you, so I'll just raise the pot again to point out some even deeper "truths" about these conflicts. It's better to push it as far as you can find them, looking for data, truths, facts, evidence, instead of stopping at a pre determined level you are comfortable with that supports a pre determined political position.
