Mars Rover: Tumbleweed Models

An anonymous reader writes "A North Carolina State project has prototyped a wind-blown Mars exploration rover. It draws its inspiration from the lowly tumbleweed, to cover large distances with low-power requirements. For collecting atmospheric, thermal or geological samples across great distances, the 'single-wheel' tumbleweed has some advantages over the usual four-wheeling approach to tough terrain."

    You don't know why everything's submitted by michael now?

    It's because the Slashdot team take their job very seriously and they do realize that there is no way for them to count up to 2 to eliminate duplicate articles after frazzling their brains on various dodgy substances.

    So, being professionals, they've hired a youngster who still has a few brain cells left and he's doing the posting for them, and so far he's actually managing to count above 1.

    Sounds good to me! :-)

    Slashdot should have a rating system for users not only as "friend/foe" but just as articles are "insightful/funny/offtopic" you should be able to give (for your personal use, just as friend/foe) rating to users as "karma whore/Troll/Spammer/Guru/Idiot" and assign extra score to stories by them.
