SCO vs Linux.. Continued
An anonymous reader writes "ComputerWorld has an interview with Chris Sontag, from SCO.
Now the story has a pretty face." The interview has a variety of comments worth noting like how much source code SCO thinks has slipped from unix to linux. This story continues to amaze me.
Appears to be slashdotted already...anyone have a mirror?
...quicker, easier, more seductive the darkside is...but more powerful, it is not.
For toilet humor, this comment was actually quite funny.
The wise follow a damned path, for to know is to be forsaken.
natalie loves dream!
You're a karma whore, and a crappy one too. You could at least have separated the questions from the answers...
Will people *stop* mirroring text of articles on servers that have no significant problems with handling /. visitors?
Besides being theft, both of the interviewer's content and their advertising revenue, it is just lame karma whoring.
How are they still claiming ownership after novel showed the world...
/.
Which novel was this? I haven't been reading many books lately, but maybe I could do a review of this one for
Kthanks.
bullshit.
The site is a little slow, but hardly warrants this idiocy.
You can damn well wait 10 seconds for an article (which was the average in the 5 times I loaded it f rom separate computers on 3 networks).
Or even 20.
A little slow?
Connections timing out are a 'little slow'?
I'd hate to know what constitutes unreachable in your mind then.

Someone check my math
60 tons = 54,546 kilograms each tank
60 MPH is unreasonable for the tank, the M1A1 tops out at 45MPH
45MPH = 20 meters/second
18kg * km/h of impulse not knowing the elasticity of the depleted uranium armor, drag coefficent of the tank in reverse, or friction of the surface, all you can say is that is could to be one very loud bang and then two tanks reversing (Newton's 2nd)

If you are wasteful and like unreadable code you can put { and } on separate lines, so you can't fit too much in. On the other hand if you like neat readable C and fit your braces on lines with other code as it shuold be you can get more in!
Just in case it isn't obvious, elsewhere in this story we've had os v ms, vi/emacs and palestine mentioned so I thought it would be fun to start another flame war - this time on C coding styles... nomex suit on :-)
I hereby inform you that I have NOT been required to provide any decryption keys.
Actually, GWB and Tony Blair have been nominated for next year's Nobel Peace Prize. I didn't even think it was supposed to be public who was nominated. But maybe I'm just thinking of the scientific awards.

I'm looking forward to a documentary on the subject matter, then. While I don't discount the possibility of indiscretion, I do question your motivation for pointing it out.
Funny, you use "we." A taxpayer. An American. One who has the freedom to criticize and deconstruct the pillars of the new evil empire [yes it's so common in evil empires for its citizens to be allowed to openly deconstruct it]. You gleefully stand on the shoulders of others, enjoy your computer and your safe haven, work and pay taxes, and enjoy the amenities. But you say it's evil. My suggestion s to stop paying taxes, and even consider working somewhere else. This way you aren't a party to what is going on. Otherwise, you are a gear in a well oiled economic machine.
Surely this country has acted under unilateralism, and is serving itself before extending the concept of freedom to others. Of course if the tables were turned, anyone you think you admire would do the same to us, if not worse. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Think carefully before you convince yourself that what you are a part of is evil. I think it's a way for you to justify your high standard of living by simply screaming out to others: "Yes, America behaves horribly and I don't agree with it. But I'll sit here and reap the spoils and you know, we'll be fixed through the efforts of our freedom fighters."
I still find it hard that through only 4200 casualties the US exterminated 20,000 soldiers and 500,000 people and the corrupt or total lack f government on the opposition side had nothing to do with those deaths. One of my good friends is Filipino [FOB], and I won't feel bad about asking him what kind of animosity he bears against the US.
