LOTR The Musical!

Blue Stone writes "The Lord of The Rings, is to become a musical, to be staged in London's West End, in 2005, on the book's 50th anniversary. The £8m (US$12m) production has lyrics by Shaun McKenna and music by Stephen Keeling and Bernd Stromberger, while Matthew Warchus will direct." If they can get Leonard Nimoy to sing the Bilbo Baggins song on stage, I'd go ;)

    Sure this might be fun...but who will want to see actual PEOPLE play the parts after seeing how well the computer generated villains did?

    Plays are sooo medieval, this might appeal to the senior citizens that refuse to see the "new age fandangled technology" but, i doubt any kids will want to view this especially considering a multi million dollar movie is alot more entertaining than a multi million dollar wannabe movie with no special effects.

    Who wants to see those trees throwing rocks as people dressed up in brown suits throwing styrofoam painted grey?

    It is not going to be worth the price of admission not nearly worth the 6-20$ you are paying to see it in the theatre with special effects and good music rather than on the stage with no effects and crappy 6x9s bumping Mozart as Bilbo and Sam dance a curious tale.

    I'd rather see Showboat again..*shudder* maybe not.

    I don't mean to sound rascist or anything, but...

    Is it just me, or do black people smell really fucking bad?

    Asians smell pretty bad too, and I've heard it's because of their diet. Is that why blacks smell bad? If I switch to a diet of fried chickens and collard greens, will I start smelling like a nigger too?

    Anyone else have some insight into this?

      asians, blacks and whites don't have the same number of sweat glands, have different excretions (earwax for example, other glands) etc

      niggers don't smell any worse than whites, it is just you who are used to the smell of whites, if the house you were raised in smelled like dog urine you wouldn't mind the smell as much as when you'd enter a house that smelled like cat urine

      just like most people like or atleast feel neutral about their own sweat smell but not that of other people

    What do you mean? Is there some actor in the original Lord of the Rings who speaks that way?
