Updating the Pirate Anime FAQ

Joe Curzon writes "Over two years ago, I created what is now probably the most comprehensive and detailed guide to spotting bootleg and counterfeit anime/manga related goods - The Pirate Anime FAQ. A special version of the FAQ has also been published at numerous Anime Conventions around the USA. However due to commitments in the "real world" I have not been able to update FAQ almost a year. :( I would like to iron out any creases and update the whole thing in one go, so I was wondering what improvements would the Otaku readers of /. recommend? The DVD section and Fansub section are in need of the most attention and I plan to deal with that soon, but I was also wondering if there were any subtle changes I could make to improve the FAQ as well?"

    Gasp!

You are advocating piracy on /.
on a thread about how to spot and stop piracy
about anime, the worlds most loved or hated animation.

    Very provocative.

I used to think Anime was the coolest thing in high school, but then I grew up, drank and got laid, and moved on to bigger and better things.

You people should do the same too..nothing sadder than seeing 30 year old guys in the comic shop asking about the latest tentacle rape anime.

    1) Post Pirate FAQ.
    2) Make a "live action" tentcle rape movie (staring micheal sims, and cowboyneal's 10mm tentacle).
    3) PROFIT!

Anime is decent in its own way I suppose, but people give it WAY too much credit. I had a friend who just yesterday was ranting about how most Americans are "too stupid to appreciate Anime." What a fucking letdown it was when I informed him that he was an American, and a member of a trendy subgroup no better then goths or Scientoligists. Teenage "Japanophiles" are a market, and nothing more. Don't advertise the fact that you're a walking corporate sponsorship anymore then you have to.

Oh yeah, and there's nothing to fucking understand. They're exactly like American shows and movies, but animated.
