Major Tablet PC Running Into Problems?

An anonymous reader writes "As Digitimes says : Global sales of Tablet PCs have not been as strong as expected, and major Tablet PC vendors like Acer and Hewlett-Packard (HP) have even experienced declining sales of the products, sources said. Acer, which claims it sold about 35,000 Tablet PCs worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2002, saw sales of the product plunge by over 50% in the first quarter of this year. " I actually saw/held my first Tablet PC last week - it was one of Fujitsu series machines, and I was pretty impressed by it. It'd make a good business/school machine, but I don't think you'd want it for gaming and the like.

No one gives a shit, but a few select morons here. I had a watch, made by Casio, years ago that was a PDA. All I needed. These tablet PC's are a big jokr.

I am posting anonymously because Michael Sims, that ignorant cunt, disabled my account. I'll get him.

As a famous cybersecurity consultant, I havve been called upon by many large businesses to investigate the feasibility of this so-called "Tablet" "PC."

Now first off, I'd like you all to know that I've been using the computers since the '80s (that's right, I said *'80s*) and I've never taken a computer class in my life. Nevertheless, I feel that I am an expert, worth more in my little finger than an MSCE (That's Micro$haft Certified Engineer).

In any case, I remember hearing about this "Micro$haft Windows for Tablets" over 12 years ago, back in the '90s (that's right, I said *'90s*) and I didn't like it then. It's closed source and therefore woefully insecure. Instead, I would highly recommend a GNU/Linux-based Tablet Computing engine. There are more than 70 touch-screen device drivers for Linux, so all you need to do is finish one, find the necessary hardware, price it right, and bingo! You're a millionaire, and you've beaten Micro$haft!

    Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely,

With the average slashdotter being as he is, and the major advantage of the tablet PC being no-handed browsing, it's not human oils we need to worry about, is it?

Besides, the wrist pressure would likely oscillate, so mechanical fatigue would wreck them even if the high-protein coating didn't.
