Defense Dept. Memo Explains Open Source Policy
TonyStanco writes "Big news. DoD issued a policy statement leveling the playing field for Open Source. We have the memo on the Center of Open Source & Government site." The requirements listed in this memo make me think of a company policy along the lines of "You can bring your baby or toddler to work, so long as it can talk, feed itself and stick effortlessly to the ceiling like a spider." See this PDF for more information about National Security Telecommunications and Information Systems Security Policy (NSTISSP) number 11.
Open Source Policy Explains Memos....eh...third post.
1st post!!
Dang I thought we were talking abouit Half Life mods
If they were up your ass you'd know where.
Irregardless, whether we were all lied to or tricked - whether Bush circumvented the UN and british soldiers tortured pows and all kinds of fuckers are dead - Saddam is gone.
Hey, I'm a "glass is half full" type of guy
That's rich...
And they sowed the seeds of revenge by leaving his son alive. Idiots.
You did a bad jeoarrooorrrb!
Thanks for that, now everytime the AC comes out at work I'm going to expect an army of spider-babies to pop out and steal my printer.
You have an Anonymous Coward at work?
And he somehow controls the spiders? Anonymously?
krystal_blade... I get it, you were talking about Air Conditioning, weren't you...
It will be easy to motivate our fellow man; there is hardly anything people treasure more than not being annihilated.
It's almost comical how, now that the already weak moral foundations for the illegitimate war have collapsed, the hawks have fallen back to the old and tired "end justifies the means" last line of defense.
End does not justify the means anymore in international politics than it does in law enforcement. You don't enforce laws by breaking them which is yet another fact that seems to have escaped the zealous Cheney-Bush-Ashcroft neocon-triumvirate.
It doesn't matter if Saddam tortured, killed, gassed or skullfucked newborn babies on a daily basis, you just don't go and bomb a sovereign country - at least without the permission of the international community and a damn good reason. In Gulf War II there was neither.
And keep your WWII analogies out of this. America would not have embarked on the "liberation of Europe" unless it had been provoked by the German U-boat war on the Atlantic and the events at the Pearl Harbor. Bombing the crap out of a third-world country with a tin-pot dictator is a far cry from confronting the nazi Germany at the peak of its power.
you really have no idea what you are talking about do you?
Mmmmm! ... Marmite ... Peanut butter ... (gargle)
Sorry, but this doesn't hold water. If Gore had carried his home state, Florida wouldn't have been an issue.
!#@%*)anks for hanging up the phone, dear.
